About the Author Raymound Joshua Scannell is a graduate student at CUNY Graduate center where he specializes in urban studies, social theory, and cultural studies. The product of a labor household, he has previously worked for the labor movement, notably for the AFL-CIO in Washington, D.C., and Michigan.
