Description

Product Description The eight Chek-Chart series books directly correlate to the ASE testing areas for certified automotive mechanics. The entire series is job-oriented, especially designed for students who intend to work in the automotive service profession. A student will be able to use the knowledge gained from these books and from the instructor to get and keep a job in automotive repair or maintenance. Learning the material and techniques in these volumes is a giant leap toward a satisfying, rewarding career. About the Author Duncan McAlester lives at the beach and endeavors to one day be retired; until then he makes a living doing things that he is still astonished people are willing to pay him for¿namely designing and programming various things through his company, Breathe (http://www.breathedesign.com). When he's not creating interactive designs, he can be found teaching interface design at the University of California Irvine Extension, sitting in on life drawing classes at the Art Institute of Southern California (his alma mater), or hosting a very informal Flash user group at the local tavern (stop by and say hi). He also speaks on various topics relating to design, multimedia, and interface design and very occasionally finds time to sleep. Michelangelo Capraro has been designing user interfaces and interaction for more than seven years. Throughout his career he has worked for many different clients ranging from big-name corporations and movie studios to smaller mom-and-pop establishments. He began his career designing multimedia CD-ROMs in Macromedia Director and moved into the entertainment industry web site design for movies and television. After founding and helping to run a design and development firm located in Los Angeles (and partaking in countless other entrepreneurial adventures), Michelangelo moved to the Bay Area of northern California where he worked on the User Experience team at Be Inc. He is currently Visual Experience Designer at PalmSource, Inc. Michelangelo attended the Art Institute of Southern California where he studied fine arts, ran the computer lab, and left school to pursue a career in graphic design and multimedia. He believes in designing interfaces that are not only comfortable to use, but also entertaining, and hopes to fulfill his dream of being a rock star one day very soon. Daniel Keeler is a journalist and editor with a distressingly long career. When he's not editing, rewriting, and generally butchering Duncan and Michelangelo's prose, he is managing editor of an international financial magazine. In the gaps in between these two jobs, he creates and manages editorial content through his company Celerity Media. At the time of writing, he was still wrestling with a dilemma over whether to remove the entirely worthless and un-user friendly Flash intro from his web site (http://www.celeritymedia.com). Todd Marks jumped ship from teaching high school in the public sector in 2000 and joined forces with his kayaking partner, Brett Rampata, and Walt Rampata to fill in the left-brained activity at digitalorganism. Currently the Vice President of Research and Development at digitalorganism, Todd has worked extensively with Flash ActionScript, Lingo, and various middleware, placing cutting-edge code in several projects, including digitalorganism's own site. With Todd's contributions, digitalorganism has received three Flash Film Festival nominations, among other honors. Todd is a Certified Flash Developer, an editor and contributor for several Flash books, and has lectured on ActionScript, PHP, and C++ at Georgetown University and several Macromedia organizations. Chris MacGregor is an interaction designer with MacGregor Media in Houston, Texas. He consults with clients across the world to improve the usability of their Flash and web projects. In addition to his award-winning work, MacGregor is recognized as a leading proponent of Flash and usability. He is the publisher of Flazoom.com,
