This book is designed to filter the medical minutia into an easy to read and follow text in General Surgery. As I went through my training in General Surgery, I found that as the in-service training exam approached I was never quite prepared. I just couldn't bring myself to read a 2000 page textbook the month before the exam. The Surgery Residents at the University of Louisville set out to develop a succinct and informed review for the in-training exam. We included the essential information needed to do well on the Board exam without overwhelming the reader. This book is written for residents by residents to enhance your understanding of the art and science of surgery. Carry it in your pocket and read between cases or quickly review a topic before teaching conference.
