In Chapter 6, students learn how to use MATLAB to solve linear and non-linear equations, and systems of equations. We cover curve fitting and interpolation in Chapter 7. The focus of the final chapters shifts to differentiation, integration, and solving ordinary and partial differential equations. We provide chemical and petroleum engineering related examples in each chapter. Along the way, we also discuss various numerical methods that can be applied at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We, the authors, hope that this book will be helpful to engineering students and instructors alike.
