CREATESPACE Estimation of Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide

Irbesartan is official in USP and Hydrochlorothiazide is official in IP, BP, and USP. But the combination of these two drugs is not official in any pharmacopoeias; so no official method is available for estimation of this combination in combined dosage form. The literature survey reveals spectroscopic, chromatographic methods for estimation of these drugs either alone or in combination with other drug in pharmaceutical dosage form and in biological fluids. The literature survey also reveals HPLC, Derivative spectroscopy and HPTLC methods for simultaneous estimation of Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide in combined dosage forms and biological fluids. But it does not reveal any stability indicating HPLC and spectrophotometric methods for simultaneous estimation of these two drugs in combined dosage forms. Then it was thought of interest to develop and validate simple, accurate, precise spectroscopic and chromatographic methods for simultaneous estimation of these two drugs in combined dosage forms.
