CREATESPACE A More Than Perfect Hatred

Northern Ireland. The ‘Troubles’ It is the Summer of 1971. It is a time of civil unrest. British Troops have now occupied the streets of Londonderry for two years. A young soldier is kidnapped and horrifically murdered by members of an Active Service Unit of the IRA. Detective Chief Inspector Michael Devlin, Special Branch, the Senior Intelligence Liaison Officer to his military counterpart Major Harry Brice at Ebrington Barracks in Londonderry, works hand in hand, by way of subterfuge and deception, to identify those who both ordered and carried out the murder. The covert Special Combined Operations Team and members of the elite Special Operations Group are tasked with locating those responsible and ultimately, exact a terrible revenge.Francis Kennedy, one of those responsible for the soldier’s murder, escapes the bloody retaliation by the security services. From the top security prison where he has languished for over a decade, Kennedy is unexpectedly released and seeks to vent his hatred on those he sees as being ultimately responsible for his torture and imprisonment. An explosive, gritty ‘no holds barred’ tale of murder, retribution and revenge. Initially set against the backdrop of the ‘Troubles’, the story continues into the 80’s and the exploits of Alan Pendle, formerly a soldier serving in Northern Ireland, now a Police Officer in a City Force in the North of England. PC Alan Pendle’s story continues, providing a colourful and uncompromising insight into inner city policing in the mid eighties. Yet, PC Pendle harbours a terrible secret, one which will return to haunt him with devastating consequences. A dark and often disturbing tale of treachery and betrayal. Definitely not for the faint hearted.
