Description

Periodontitis is a bacteria initiated inflammatory disease of the tooth supporting structures. In the susceptible patient, progressive alveolar bone destruction often leads to tooth loss, exerting debilitating effects on ones overall quality of life. This book contains ten chapters on periodontal disease, each written by experts in their respective fields. Chapter 9 provides a comprehensive discussion on planning rehabilitative treatments for periodontitis-affected patients, while Chapter 10 highlights the importance of research in the field of periodontology, presenting a summary of how longitudinal periodontal data is analyzed.
