Instead of focusing on only organisms or nature in order to better understand the world and its development, this book places humans and physical aspects at the centre of its focus, combining practical and experimental studies on nonhuman model organisms, ecological and geographical information, nature conservation and territorial planning, and the study of humans and society. About the Author Jorge Luis P. Oliveira-Costa is a physical geographer. He completed his Master’s in Physical Geography at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2014, and is currently a PhD student at the same institution. He is a Scientific Researcher at the Centre of Studies on Geography and Spatial Planning and the International Biogeography Society. His main research areas are physical geography, biogeography, conservation, and invasion ecology. Tatiana A. Moreira is a Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Espírito Santo IFES, Brazil. She is also a Researcher at the Federal University of São Carlos and the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil. She is the author of Discursivity, Power and Authors in Brazilian and Portuguese Raps: Arenas between Art and Life (2016), as well as articles and other works on the graffiti and hip-hop culture. Her research areas are linguistics, teaching, graffiti, and hip-hop. Fátima Velez de Castro holds a PhD in Geography, and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Tourism at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where she is also a Researcher (Integrated Member) at the Centre for Studies on Geography and Spatial Planning. Her work focuses on the geography of migrations, social and cultural geography, social hazards, and geography teaching.
