He received his PhD in Psychology from Western Michigan University and his Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. He worked as a psychologist for various mental health institutions in Michigan for over 12 years and has published in the areas of mental health and indigenous psychology. His publications include six edited books. Livia L. Gilstrap, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. She obtained her PhD in Developmental Psychology at the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Cornell University. Her research spans many areas within lifespan and family development, including forensic interviews with children, adult-child dyadic interaction, psychological symptoms of child abuse, and children’s memory. Her articles have appeared in such prestigious journals as Child Development and Jou
