Foreign policy and domestic policy feed into each other. To a large degree, the latter informs the former. This book demonstrates the relationship between the two, paying particularly close attention to how South Africa envisioned its foreign policy during the negotiation process. Importantly, it spells out how South Africa’s foreign policy has evolved since the early 1990s. The critics of South Africa’s foreign policy often question the motives behind the country’s involvement in African and global affairs. The contributions here demonstrate the complex nature of foreign policy making, approaching the subject both from a broad theoretical perspective and specifically through empirical case studies. About the Author Professor Bheki R. Mngomezulu is a Full Professor of Political Science at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He holds seven degrees in History, Political Science and Education, in addition to an SSTD. He has published five books (including The President for Life Pandemic in Africa), ten book chapters, and several journal articles. He has formerly served as the CEO of the Mzala Nxumalo Centre, and as Senior Lecturer and Academic Leader of the International and Public Affairs Cluster at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He is also a political analyst for various TV and radio stations and newspapers.
