Description

Nanometre-sized clusters (nanoclusters) that make up amorphous materials (metallic alloys and organic and inorganic compounds) cast new light on the science and technology of this century. However, because various electronic characteristics of nanoclusters have been discovered during the past decade, there have been few publications concerned with the electronic properties of nanoclusters. This book presents a detailed study of these properties, beginning with their basic characteristics (from alloy synthesis to the electronic rule for the formation of amorphous alloys) to more technical aspects (such as new single electron transistors, superior ballistic conduction). About the Author Mikio Fukuhara retired from the New Industry Creation Hatchery Center of Tohoku University, Japan, in March 2018, and is now a Research Fellow at the same institution. His current research interests are focused on physical storages of amorphous oxide and polymer, the ultimate purpose of which is to store the enormous amount of electric energy that the Earth creates.
