About the Author I have been a faculty member at California State University, East Bay since 2000 in Biology and Health Sciences departments. I have been teaching a variety of courses in the two departments including general biology, genes and human health, environmental health, human biology and nutrition. My main area of research is in environmental health sciences. With the rapid changes characterizing the world today, including effects of climate change, finding ways to live more sustainably on Earth is of great interest to us, non-scientists and scientists alike. My research focuses on the conservation of biological diversity, effects of climate change, solid waste disposal and recycling efforts in communities, renewable energy technology (RETs) development, and health effects of pesticides particularly in the world’s developing nations. I have written two books and published several articles on these topics.
