He is also the director of the annual longitudinal survey of national resilience, conducted by the Center for National Security Studies at the University of Haifa. Additionally, he serves as the secretary of the Association of Civil-Military Studies in Israel. Lewin is the author of academic papers and books focusing on general socio-political phenomena such as patriotism, national resilience, and national ethos.Etta Bick is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Middle East Studies and Political Science at Ariel University. She specializes in comparative politics, religion and politics and studies in citizenship. She has published widely on the role of American Jews in Israel-U.S. relations, Israel’s political parties, rabbis in Israeli politics and most recently a series of articles on national civilian service in Israel. She is currently writing a book on the politics behind the expansion of national civilian service in Israel.Dan Naor is a researcher in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at Bar Ilan University and Ariel University. His research interests include Lebanese history, politics and society, and the Lebanese-Syrian relations. He has published several articles in journals such as Middle Eastern Studies, British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies and Israel Affairs .
