About the Author Kevin W. Kaatz is an associate professor in the Department of History at California State University, East Bay. He has written and edited the books Documents of the Rise of Christianity: Eyewitness to History; Citizen Internees: A Second Look at Race and Citizenship in Japanese American Internment Camps (with Linda Ivey); and Voices of Early Christianity: Documents from the Origins of Christianity, among others.Randy Utz is a graduate student in the Department of History at California State University, East Bay. His areas of interest include ancient history, with a special focus on Rome, as well as nineteenth and twentieth century working-class history.
