The MeComplete! Early Learning Rhythms and Rhymes™ sets are a way to support teachers in doing the important work of supporting infants and toddlers in loving, fun, supportive ways, Our goal is to provide supportive assistance to teachers and in so doing provide activities that support children’s development. The learning card sets provide real images with words for rhythms, rhymes, and finger plays that guide children through routines, emotions, concepts, and expectations that nurture the child’s development, motivations, and competencies.This Family set provides many opportunities to learn many concepts but to also build relationships. Because the child develops within the context of the family and the family is the child’s greatest influence, it is an ever-present opportunity for learning. This makes supporting families central to our work with young children. This set provides ways to support learning about family members as well as language and social emotional skills.This Guidebook is an accompaniment to the MeComplete! Early Learning Rhythms and Rhymes: Family curricula set. It provides an overview of why rhythms, rhymes, finger plays and songs are an essential part of infant/toddler curriculum. This guide provides ways for each learning card in the set to be used for young infants, mobile infants, and toddlers. In addition, it links the learning posters to learning goals for each age group (using the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework) as well as how they support the program in meeting ITERS (Infant Toddler Environmental Rating Scales) criteria.
