In Visions of Development in Central Asia: Revitalizing the Culture Concept, Noor O'Neill Borbieva reflects on anthropology's withdrawal from discussions about culture and the parallel rise of the intellectually and politically problematic discourse of "culture matters thinking," or CMT.
