About the Author Alexandra George is an author, journalist, translator and trilingual international communications specialist with over 15 years experience in international organizations (UN, EU and OSCE) working in press and public affairs. Postings include the Balkans (Bosnia and Kosovo), Russia, Ukraine, Caucasus, Central Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and East and West Africa. Her books include Escape from Ward Six: Russia Facing Past and Present and she also has numerous publications and published translated works. As a journalist she previously reported from South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East for the Financial Times, Economist Intelligence Unit, Far Eastern Economic Review, Guardian, Le Monde Diplomatique and Spectator. She has two post-graduate degrees from Columbia University, New York. Product Description This study explores the nature and circumstances of Indias social unrest in the 1980s.
