The authors have assembled a comprehensive atlas which analyzes the three-dimensional reconstruction technique and compares and contrasts computed tomography images with standard X-ray images of various craniofacial disorders. Coverage includes the history and technique of image acquisition types, the normal skull, craniosynostoses, craniofacial clefts, meningoencephaloceles, growth disorders, tumors, and trauma via pre- and post-operative images. Drs. David, Hemmy, and Cooter have geared their atlas for surgeons and investigators, emphasizing the need for proper data storage to reconstruct three dimensional CT images.
