She is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Past President of the Cognitive Development Society, and has received numerous awards, including a J. S. Guggenheim Fellowship, a James McKeen Cattell Fund sabbatical fellowship, and the APA Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology in the Developmental Area.
