Description

Saving Capitalism and Democracy tries to answer the difficult questions posed by intellectuals, the media, politicians, students and ordinary people concerning the crisis and how to avert an impending catastrophe. Review "Mohamed Rabie's new book, Saving Capitalism and Democracy, provides a broad historical sweep of human development that masterfully explores the inter-connection of economic, social and political forces from the beginning of human awareness. It is a deeply philosophical book made possible by the author's personal and professional biography. The dynamics of previous stages of development inform the author's cogent analysis of contemporary dysfunctions and his fresh recommendations for overcoming the current global crisis." - Ann Philips, Public Policy Scholar, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, USA About the Author Mohamed Rabie is Professor of International Political Economy at The School of Governance and Economics in Rabat, Morocco. He studied in Egypt, Germany and the United States and holds a PhD degree in Economics from the University of Houston. He taught at several Arab and American universities, including Kuwait University, Georgetown University, The Johns Hopkins University and Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. Between 2001 and 2004 he was a Guest Professor at St. Galen University in Switzerland and between 1998 and 2000 Dr. Rabie served as an Academic Advisor to Erfurt University in Germany and was its US representative.
