Product Description User-Centric Networks (UCN) and Information-Centric Networks (ICN) are new communication paradigms to increase the efficiency of content delivery and also content availability. In this new concept, the network infrastructure actively contributes to content caching and distribution. This book presents the basic concepts of UCN and ICN, describes the main architecture proposals for these networks, and discusses the main challenges to their development. The book also looks at the current challenges for this concept, including naming, routing and caching on the network-core elements, several aspects of content security, user privacy, and practical issues in implementing UCN and ICN. About the Author M. Bala Krishna (Bala Krishna Maddali) earned his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology (presently Netaji Subhas University of Technology, and formerly Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology), University of Delhi, Delhi, India, and Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Information Technology from University School of Information Technology (presently University School of Information and Communication Technology), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, India. He had earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Engineering from JMI Central University, New Delhi, India. He had earlier worked as senior research associate and project associate in Indian Institute Technology, Delhi, India, in the areas of digital systems and embedded systems. He had worked as faculty member and had handled projects related to networking and communication. He is presently working as Assistant Professor in University School of Information and Communication Technology, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India. His areas of interest include computer networks, wireless networks, advances in mobile computing and communications, cognitive radio and software-defined networks, security in communication networks, and the Internet of Things. He has publications in international journals, conferences, and book chapters. He has contributed as the corresponding co-editor for an international book titled as Advances in Mobile Computing and Communications: Perspectives and Emerging Trends in 5G Networks. He is an IEEE senior member and has served as the Workshop Co-Chair and Tutorial Chair/Co-Chair for IEEE conferences. He has organized the IEEE and ACM workshops. He is a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for IEEE conferences.
