He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Washington, California, and Arizona. He taught for ten years at UCLA and UC Irvine in their Environmental Engineering Extension program teaching the core cores in air quality and hazardous materials management. He is currently affiliated with the University of Idaho's sponsored Stormwater and Erosion Education Program.
