The 75th Glass Problem Conference is organized according to the following themes: Glass Melting,Forming, Energy and Environmental, Refractories, Sensors and Control, Modeling. About the Author S. K. Sundaram is an Inamori Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Alfred University (starting from January 1, 2011). Before joining Alfred University, Dr. Sundaram was a Materials Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He joined the PNNL in 1994 as a post-doctoral fellow and became a Senior Research Scientist in 1996. He was promoted to Chief Materials Scientist in January 2002. On technical front, he has been working on several aspects of advanced transformational materials science and engineering, focused on glass, ceramics, and semiconductors for various applications in energy, environment, health care, and national security. Dr. Sundaram is internationally recognized for interdisciplinary research. He has made over 100 technical presentations, edited/contributed to 11 books, published over 75 peer-reviewed publications and technical reports, mentored/supported over 40 students, and organized/co-organized several national and international symposia on advanced topics in materials science. He also has three issued patents and two provisional patent applications.  Dr. Sundaram is the member of several scientific societies including the American Ceramic Society, and the recipient of prestigious awards.
