The necessary material usually covered in General Chemistry, instead of being reviewed in one chapter, is treated thoroughly in the first 8 or so chapters, always with an eye towards its relevance to organic chemistry. Then organic reactions kick in. The focus is on those reactions that are relevant to students studying biology, because, let's face it, that's who most organic students are. Because of its gradual start and reduced vocabulary, this book is ideal for those studying organic chemistry as college freshmen (the audience for which it was written), and also advanced high school students who have exhausted traditional high school courses and are looking for a challenge. In addition, it has seen use in some one-semester organic courses. The book is written in a friendly, conversational style that is a favorite of students.Note this is the second half of the book, I had to split it because it ran over Kindle's page limit.
