Band Orchestration: Volume 3 - Brass

In the third volume of Band Orchestration, we take a deep dive into the brass instruments. This book is part instrumentation text, part orchestration guide, and part comprehensive encyclopedia of all things brass related.Each instrument is covered in exhaustive detail with three major chapters devoted to each instrument family. One chapter deals with general information, history, and construction. The second deals with all known and used members of the instruments family including multiple excerpts and photos. The third chapter goes into detail on how the instruments are using within a section ranging from a single player to eight or more players. Both modern and historical instruments are covered. A composer can use this book to see what brass instruments can do today while a conductor can use this book to see how composers have used them in the past.
