This book is about contributions by exceptional people written by an inspired common person to inspire fellow common people. This is an attempt to pay tribute to these exceptional people since humans started keeping records by highlighting their work. These individuals have made significant contributions to society through their creativity, perseverance and dedicated work in fields such as Science, Mathematics, Arts, Literature, Religion etc. that have shaped modern living for mankind as we know it today. Also included are few social leaders or politicians who shaped the destiny of their respective countries / continents.Besides giving brief information about them, I have tried to provide synopsis of their concepts / theories / laws / inventions / discoveries. This book is aimed to enhance general knowledge and awareness about the significant contribution made by these persons. It would probably help to create interest among students and motivate them to further study topics of their interest and the respective personalities from this book could become their role models. The readers may find some personalities to be controversial; the authors or publishers do not condone or support any deeds committed by the people listed in the book that do not fit todays’ social norms. There are many ‘outliners’ who are different from others, their extraordinary qualities do not get noticed in the childhood. One would note from this book that many great persons in their childhood were shy, queer and different from others, but lucky to be nurtured by their parents or “Gurus” and had blessings of God.
