The book presents a series of patient vignettes which highlight the profound effects that hormones can have on behavior. Key examples, observed by an experienced endocrinologist, illustrate the unusual and often bizarre effects of excess or deficient levels of hormones. Exposure to high amounts of male hormones can result in "steroid rage", capital murder, indecent exposure, erotic dreams, and aggressive behavior.
