Description
This insightful Companion explores how economic agents, especially individuals and firms, make financial and investment decisions over time under conditions of uncertainty in the market. Joshua Yindenaba Abor provides a comprehensive examination of financial economics, discussing critical areas such as digital finance and banking, climate finance and financial inclusion. Bringing together an international range of experts in the field to present relevant cases, this Companion moves beyond conventional studies of financial economics. It focuses on critical issues in financial economics from theoretical and empirical perspectives, including core areas such as corporate finance, financial markets and asset pricing, and behavioural finance. Chapters also explore emerging issues such as digital finance and banking, financial regulation and financial stability, monetary policy and Fintech, central bank digital currency, green finance and banking, and climate finance and financial inclusion. The Elgar Companion to Financial Economics is a valuable tool for students and academics in economics and banking. It also greatly benefits practitioners in climate control, dividend policy and monetary policy, as well as policymakers in corporate governance.
