Description
Metallic structures such as bridges, offshore platforms, and mining facilities often need to be retrofitted due to ageing and deterioration, increased loading and change of use. Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) has a high strength-to- weight ratio, excellent resistance to corrosion and environmental degradation, and offers increased and cost-effective durability. This new edition of FRP-Strengthened Metallic Structures is overhauled throughout, to capture the latest worldwide research for a comprehensive treatment of the behaviour and design of FRP-strengthened metallic structures. It includes a new chapter on enhancement of dynamic performance under large deformation cyclic loading, impact and blast loading, and provides new material on CNT-modified epoxy, shear and torsion-strengthening, compression members strengthened using prestressed CFRP plates, fatigue strengthening of welded joints.
