Description

This book is a collection of photographs, illustrations, personal stories and media articles about the New Wave phenomena Klaus Nomi. At a time when New Wave was a wide genre, Klaus brought his contra-tenor talents to a range of songs that included "The Boots Are Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra, "Lightning Strikes" by Gene Pitney and operatic pieces such as "Samson and Delilah". Klaus made his musical debut in New York City and after a short time, he landed a recording contract with RCA France and with his popularity in Europe, Klaus was on his way to stardom. Unfortunately, he contracted AIDS before the doctors even knew what it was and he died in August of 1983. Klaus has more fans today then when he was alive, several Facebook pages run by fans and there are several contra-tenors that re-inact his performance. All the contributors to the content of this book have donated their work for free. All proceeds from the sale of this book are being donated to an AIDS charity.
