This man-hour book is a comprehensive labor journal for pipefitting work. It provides the man-hour units and evaluation procedures required to secure and conduct all manner of this work. The book is organized with an Introduction and 5 Sections. The Introduction provides an overview of pipefitting man-hour units, their origins and relationships, and typical estimating procedures and examples. Sections I, II, and III provide the man-hour units for pipefitting activities, components, and systems, and Section IV provides units for associated craft-work. Lastly, Section V provides a compendium of pipefitting reference information and technical data. Units are provided for both carbon-steel and alloy-steel classes of material, and cover all the regular schedules of piping from 1/2 to 48 inches diameter. They are based on standard productivity for installing pipe in an industrial plant or facility under normal conditions. In all, the book contains 42,125 work effort units in 222 tables, providing a broad base of information for everyone in the pipefitting industry. The units are consistent and reliable for the work wherever encountered and are well correlated and soundly resolved to the physical attributes of pipe. They provide an appropriate reference for every stakeholder concerned with the time-value of pipefitting work and will well serve craftsmen, estimators, contractors, engineers, and owners alike.
