M.P. Möller: The Artist of Organs — The Organ of Artists

This book is neither a biography of Möller nor is it an exhaustive history of the M.P. Möller Organ Company, the scope of this endeavor being intentionally limited to the lifetime of the com-pany’s founder. Rather, it is a collection of related essays focusing on significant events in the life of M.P. Möller and his enterprises. It is the hope of the author that this book will encourage others to complete the story of the world’s largest organ company, with production peaking at more than an organ a day in the mid-1920s to its ignominious end in 1992. Ten years have passed since the pub-lication of An Organ a Day; and during that decade, significant amounts of new material have been discovered, especially those in the mammoth Möller Collection at the Organ Historical Society Library and Archives, the Athenæum of Philadelphia, and the Free Library of Philadelphia.
