Levinsky, with a strong emphasis on work done in the former Soviet Union.Many of the p-T diagrams were proposed by the author and 40 are published in this handbook for the first time.The editorial work is the result of the activities of the Materials Science International Services, GmbH (MSI) team of workers, a group headed by Gunder Effenberg in Stuttgart. Levinsky has studied and applied the influence of pressure on phase formations in high-tech materials for more than 25 years. Born in 1935 in Moscow, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Nonferrous Metals and Gold. After 14 years of professional engagement in the All-Union Institute of Aviation Materials, he joined the Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology, where he has been a professor at the Cathedra of Composite and Powder Materials of the Moscow State University since 1981.
