Product Description Voices of Christianity presents the key documents that shaped the history of Christianity. The story is told through the struggles, events, and achievements that contributed to its beliefs. The last two chapters look closely at world Christianity in its global setting. About the Author Rebecca Moore is Professor Emerita of Religious Studies at San Diego State University. She has a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Marquette University. Dr. Moore has written and published on medieval Christian theologians and their debt to Jewish biblical commentary. She co-authored the book A Portable God: The Origin of Judaism and Christianity (Rowman and Littlefield 2007) with SDSU colleague Risa Levitt Kohn. This work examines how first-century Jewish groups interpreted Israelite religion in a new historical context. Her analysis of the role women have played in the development of Christianity, Women in Christian Traditions (New York University Press 2015), is a popular textbook. She is past president of the Society for the Study of the Bible in the Middle Ages and of the American Academy of Religion (AAR)―Western Region, and has served on national program steering committees for the AAR and the Society for Biblical Literature.
