The Encyclopedia of Adoption, Third Edition covers many new developments since publication of the previous edition. These additions include the Adoption and Safe Families Act, a federal law that was created to encourage the adoption of foster children, which has now been fully implemented by all states and has led to a drastic increase in the number of foster children adopted.
