Green Criminology provides a focal point for longstanding and new areas of research as well as making important interdisciplinary connections. About the Author Nigel South is Professor in the Department of Sociology, University of Essex, UK. He has teaching and research interests in criminology, drug use, and health and environmental issues and is currently a Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic Development) at the University of Essex and a member of the Royal Society of Arts' Commission of Inquiry into Illegal Drugs, Communities and Public Policy. Piers Beirne is Professor of Sociology and Legal Studies in the Department of Criminology, University of Southern Maine, U.S.A.
