Abstract: Thesis composed of two parts: (i) experiments on nonlinear water wave transmission and reflection at narrow openings such as harbour mouths and inlets, (ii) flow and sediment transport, erosion and deposition at tidal inlets, flushing of connected bay and lagoon systems.
