Born in Casablanca, Morocco, Castelbajac originally began working for his mother’s clothing company. He was then appointed as the artistic director of major fashion houses – including Max Mara and Courrèges – during the 1970s and 1990s. Castelbajac’s clothes embody a passion for history, the world of childhood innocence and Pop art, and he pioneered the concept of fashion collaborations, working with artists such as Keith Haring and Cindy Sherman. This expansive publication brings together work from across his storied career to explore his multifaceted creative spirit.
