ACOL is a series of books and software designed to teach various topics in analytical chemistry from the basics using an interactive approach with self–assessment aspects. HPLC is a technique for separating and analyzing components in mixtures used in over 80% of all organic analyses in industries such as food/beverage (the determination of caffeine in instant coffee), pharmaceutical, medicinal, environmental, forensics, and DNA analysis. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (2E) is a Windows training package on two diskettes. The program offers the user the choice of instrument configurations and other variables such as calibration standards, pH, flow rate, stationary phase, wavelength and attenuation. The outcome of each choice, together with relevant reinforcement or guidance, if necessary, is seen immediately on the computer screen, often as simulation instrument output. The software applies the principles of HPLC to real world problems.
