The manufacture and applications of chiral compounds continue to develop. Building on the "case studies" format of the first volume, this text concentrates on different syntheses and the developments in the field. It presents a comprehensive picture of the technologies required for the production of optically active molecules on the multi-Kg to high tonnage scales, as well as illustrating the breadth of application of the products of these technologies. This volume is divided into sections on physical methods and classical resolutions, biological methods and the chiral pool, and asymmetric synthesis.
