An international group of contributors presents recent developments in the study of the mechanisms, structure-reactivity relations, and other aspects of alkane transformation processes. Special attention is given to highly selective, catalytic, high- conversion alkane functionalization processes - homogeneous processes - especially those in the liquid phase. The principal approaches to transforming, activating, and functionalizing alkanes are discussed, along with the preparative potentials of these processes. The volume will be of benefit to physical chemists, organometallic chemists, biochemists, chemical physicists and graduate students.
