He specializes in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Environmental Impact Assessment. He is working with international organizations on various aspects of DRR and supervising research students in the field of disaster risk management. He is member of editorial board of reputed journals and has authored books and numerous research articles in prestigious journals.
