The chapters in this book were originally published as a special issue of The International History Review. About the Author David Holloway is the Raymond A. Spruance Professor in International History, Professor of Political Science, and Senior Fellow at the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies, Emeritus at Stanford University, USA. He is the author of Stalin and the Bomb: The Soviet Union and Atomic Energy, 1939-1956 (Yale University Press, 1994) and other works on nuclear history. Leopoldo Nuti is Professor of History of International Relations at Roma Tre University, Italy, and Co-Director of the Nuclear Proliferation International History Project. From 2014 to 2018 he was President of the Italian Society of International History. He has published extensively in Italian, English and French on US-Italian relations, nuclear history, and Italian foreign and security policy.
