About the Author Paul Rodmell is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Music at the University of Birmingham, UK. His research focuses on British musical culture of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; he is the author of monographs on Charles Villiers Stanford and Opera in the British Isles, 1875-1918.
