About the Author Ayurdhi Dhar, Ph.D., is an instructor of psychology at the University of West Georgia. She has taught psychology in the United States and in India, where she also worked as a psychotherapist. Her research interests include the relation between schizophrenia and immigration, discursive practices sustaining the concept of mental illness, and critiques of acontextual and ahistorical forms of knowledge.
