Description
Product Description The Role of Plant Growth Regulators and Phytohormones in Overcoming Environmental Stress is a comprehensive resource on all major PGRs. These include auxins, cytokinins, jasmonates, polyammines, plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), and more. In the last two decades, researchers have explored a lot about the roles of plant growth regulators (PGRs) in boosting the resistance of plants under stress conditions. These PGRs acts as stimulators for various physiological processes by regulating key cell signaling pathways. This title is an essential read for any scientist wanting to understand the latest advances in combatting abiotic stresses using plant growth regulators. In the present era, plants are facing a lot of challenges during their lifecycle, including growth declines due to abiotic stress. The main abiotic stresses threatening plants are water scarcity, salinity, extreme temperatures, heavy metals and pesticides. These stresses directly or indirectly cause toxicity to plants, causing hindrance to their growth and development, and ultimately reduce plant productivity. Review Presents the latest advances of PGR mediated regulation of abiotic stress using advanced molecular techniques About the Author Anket Sharma is currently working as a Visiting Research Scientist at University of Maryland, College Park, USA & as an Associate Professor (Adjunct) at Zhejiang A & F University, Hangzhou, China. Dr. Sharma has more than 100 research articles to his credit. Dr. Sharma Completed his M.Phil and Ph.D. from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab, India. Durgesh Kunar Tripathi is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Amity Institute of Organic Agriculture, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, India. He has authored 94 publications in reputed journals and most of them are based on the management of abiotic stress by the addition of silicon. His research interests are crop physiology, phytohormone crosstalk and root biology. Dr. Tripathi is also an editor and reviewer of several reputed international journals and has edited 9 books. He is also one of the series editors for our newly signed plant science series Nanomaterials-Plant Interactions.
