About the Author Solomon P. Wasser is a world leader in medicinal mushrooms study and fungal evolution, taxonomy, and biodiversity, especially in higher Basidiomycetes mushrooms. He has introduced 226 new scientific names for fungi, including 42 species of higher Basidiomycetes species. He has also developed and patented new dietary supplements with immunomodulating, cholesterol lowering, antidiabetic, antioxidant, and radical scavenging activities. He is founder and editor-in-chief of International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms, Algologia, and International Journal on Algae and is an author and coauthor of 600 scientific publications, including 57 books and 15 patents. Milana Frenkel-Morgenstern completed her PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel in 2006. She made her first postdoc in the lab of Prof. Uri Alon in Systems Biology in the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, and the second postdoc in the lab of Prof. Alfonso Valencia in the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Spain.
