Description

Product Description Advances in Engineered Cementitious Composite: Materials, Structures and Numerical Modelling focuses on recent research developments in high-performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites, covering three key aspects, i.e., materials, structures and numerical modeling. Sections discuss the development of materials to achieve high-performance by using different type of fibers, including polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyethylene (PE) polypropylene (PP) and hybrid fibers. Other chapters look at experimental studies on the application of high-performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites on structures and the performance of structural components, including beams, slabs and columns, and recent development of numerical methods and modeling techniques for modeling material properties and structural behavior. This book will be an essential reference resource for materials scientists, civil and structural engineers and all those working in the field of high-performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites and structures. Review Focuses on recent research developments in high-performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites, focusing on materials, structures and numerical modeling From the Back Cover Advances in Engineered Cementitious Composites: Materials, Structures and Numerical Modelling focuses on recent research developments in high-performance fibre-reinforced cementitious composites covering three key aspects, i.e. materials, structures and numerical modelling.
Part one discusses the development of materials to achieve high-performance by using different type of fibres including polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyethylene (PE) polypropylene (PP) and hybrid fibers. This section provides comprehensive information on the development of materials and the effect of different types of fibers on the performance of fibre-reinforced cementitious composites.

Part two looks at experimental studies on the application of high-performance fibre-reinforced cementitious composites on structures and the performance of structural components including beams, slabs and columns. This section provides up-to-date references on experimental methods and measuring techniques too. The information on structures looks at structural design and the potential benefits of these novel high-performance materials in engineering applications. Structural strengthening using high performance fibre-reinforced cementitious composites is also discussed in detail.

Part three focuses on the recent development of numerical methods and modelling techniques for modelling material properties and structural behavior. The multiscale numerical modelling method used to analyze material properties including unique strain-hardening tensile behavior is also discussed and finite element analysis of structures including engineered cementitious composite (ECC) beams, slabs and columns.

The book will be an essential reference resource for materials scientists, civil and structural engineers and all those working in the field of high-performance fibre-reinforced cementitious composites and structures.
About the Author Y.X.
