Description
Based on the acclaimed print edition of the First Encyclopedia this is a complete reference resource for KS1 on CD-ROM. Content is matched to the QCA objectives, with easy to use menus, indexes, and key word searches for pictures and information gathering. The software aims to develop infants' information retrieval skills that can then be applied across the curriculum, while enhancing their literacy and ICT skills. For infants, the CD-ROM is simple to navigate and contains photographs, illustrations and text which can easily be copied into other packages to support children's own work or used for whole class teaching. For assessment purposes, children are able to save a record of their own work, and to reinforce learning there are motivating quizzes and activities to encourage young children to use the resource to search for information.
