This is a document reprint of an engineering economy text formerly published by McGraw-Hill. OUP will publish the new edition under its own imprint in 2003. The text is suitable for courses in engineering economics taught at virtually all engineering schools at the junior/3rd year level. The course is commonly taught in industrial engineering although sometimes in mechanical engineering, engineering management within civil engineering departments, or in economics departments. The text introduces the basic theory and application of engineering economy. It is suitable for a first course in engineering economy, for self-study by practicing engineers, and for reference during the practice of engineering. The text includes enough material so that instructors have some choices in approach for a first course at the undergraduate level. Examples from all major engineering disciplines are included, with both private- and public-sector applications.
